Miami Maiden Program
The Miami Maiden Program was created around 2002 by our Elder Women’s Council. The purpose of the program is to appointment a young lady of the Miami Nation of Indians of Indiana who the Tribe feels fully represents what it means to be a Miami of Indiana woman. The Maiden is active in the Tribe’s events, culture, and knowledgeable of our history. They are also active in their family, school, and social life. It is a great honor for the Tribe to have these young women as our ambassador and an honor for these young woman to be an ambassador for our people.
Congratulations to Emyle Hobbs the Miami Maiden for 2023!!
“As Miami Maiden 2023, I would like to educate people more about the Natives. This position that I have kindly been given is meant to teach all people, especially young women. I would like to inform people about the different kinds of native dancing(that I have seen/know of)” Emyle Hobbs
